A Databook is a container for one or more related tables. Use Databooks when you need governed data entry, hierarchy management, validation, or a controlled way to push master data changes into semantic models and reports.

Databooks hold the tables that support operational reporting. Each table can include typed columns, validation rules, generated IDs, permissions, version history, and relationships to other tables.

  • Reference Data: Manage cost centers, GL mappings, customer attributes, or other shared business dimensions in one controlled place.
  • Configuration Data: Store thresholds, business rules, lists, and mappings that change over time but still require validation and auditability.
  • Manual Input: Capture budgets, overrides, adjustments, and other data that cannot be sourced directly from an external system.
  • Hierarchies: Model organizational structures, chart of accounts, geography trees, and other ordered business groupings.
